Natural Trait Reminders (Not Quality Issues)

• Our walnuts are 100% natural and hand-cleaned. Tiny dried fruit husk or dark spots in the deep textures are normal natural residues, which won’t affect patina or playing. Clean gently with a steel brush or a nano brush if needed.

• No two natural walnuts are identical. Pairs are matched by size, grain and shape with minor color difference or grain density variation—this is normal and not a defect.

• Small natural dents, fine lines or slight ridge deviations are growth marks, which won’t impact the overall appearance and use.

Product Care

Iron Walnuts are known for their incredible density, but they are also more sensitive to environmental changes. To help your pair develop a deep, translucent patina and prevent cracking, follow these rituals:

• Prevent Cracking (Important): Due to their high density, Iron Walnuts are sensitive to humidity. Always store them in an airtight container—like the Banri Jar or a Ziploc bag—whenever you aren't playing with them. This protects them from dry air, drafts, and sudden temperature shifts.

• The "First Aid" Fix: If you notice a small hairline crack, don't panic. Apply a tiny amount of hand cream to the area, then immediately seal the walnuts in a Ziploc bag for 24–48 hours. This helps the wood fibers stabilize.

• Play with Clean Hands: Always wash and dry your hands before playing. The natural oils from clean skin help develop a clear, polished finish. Dirty hands will cause the shell to look "muddy" or dull over time.

• No Sudden Temp Changes: Keep your walnuts away from heaters, air conditioners, or direct sunlight. Organic materials expand and contract with temperature; stability is the key to a perfect patina.

• Keep Them Dry: Avoid water. If they do get wet, dry them immediately with a soft cloth and let them air dry slowly. Never use a hairdryer.

• Handle with Care: Iron Walnuts are hard but brittle. Avoid heavy impacts or dropping them on hard surfaces, as this can cause the tips to chip or the shell to split.
